Music is becoming more and more prevalent in our lives, so why not learn to mix the songs that you love. The Groove Guru himself, Halim Ardie, has setup a comprehensive course perfect for beginners. By the end of the 10 hours, you will be able to mix tracks, prepare songs for sets and be able to output a DJ set.
About the Course
This 10 hour course will help you navigate the many illuminated buttons and features of the PioneerDJ turntables. Halim has crafted the 10 hours to help participants easily pick up the skill of DJing.
Every lesson will last an hour. You’ll cover song structure, beat counting, beat matching, cueing, mixing and if you’re really doing well some creative effects. Not only that, you’ll have access to Beatport’s huge online library for endless track selections for your future mixes!
Hour 1 Introductions to beats, measures and tempo. Getting to know the genre and songs.
Hour 2 Quick recap of hour before. Theory of Beat Matching, Understanding song structure and mixing rules of thumb.
Hour 3 Quick recap of hour before. Beat matching practice session.
Hour 4 Beat matching practice session.
Hour 5 Introduction to mixing tracks and practice beat matching.
Hour 6 Mixing tracks and practice beat matching.
Hour 7 Mixing tracks and practice beat matching.
Hour 8 Song selection lesson and using Rekordbox to prepare tracks.
Hour 9 Reviewing your selected tracks. Mixing your tracks.
Hour 10 Mixing your tracks and final comments.
Please note: Cancellations of lessons within 24 hours will be counted as a lesson used. Late arrivals to lessons do not guarantee a full hour of lesson time.
